Signing ceremony socialized investment railways logistics center - Yen Vien station
After a period of positive negotiation and get the approval of the Ministry of Transport, Vietnam Railways and IndoTran (ITL) held the signing ceremony of socialization investment Railways Logistics Center - Yen Vien Station (Hanoi) on September 16th, 2015.
According to agreement, ITL is entitled to use and exploit in 23 years, then transferred entirely to Vietnam Railways. During that period, ITL can surcharge the fee of lifting container and other services to recover invested capital.
After completion, Yen Vien Logistics Center will reduce the cost, time of delivery of goods and make Yen Vien station become the extended arm connetting port of Hai Phong, CICT and Cai Lan. Customers can shorten the waiting time of goods delivery by applying advanced management and unloading technologies. Besides, customers can do the declaration of Custom and Import and export procedure at Yen Vien station instead of seaport and international stations.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Tran Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of Vietnam Railways stressed: "This is one of the first projects to implement the policy appealing the socialization investment in rail infrastructure. The objective of the project is to increase freight capacity on the national railway system, bring the facility to the customers as well as ensure the benefit of the investors on the base of connecting modes of transport and applying technology of managing cargo handling”.
Mr. Thanh expressed absolute confidence in the success of the project. He said: “Vietnam Railways will be increased openness, cooperation with investors for other social projects of the country in order to create a new face of modern railways with larger capacity, better quality, faster and more efficiently.”

Logistics center at Yen Vien Station will apply advanced technologies to help improve capacity and cargo handling upto 3-5 times, increased output of goods through Yen Vien Station 2-3 times, reducing operational time, thereby improving turnaround trains, reduce transportation costs, increase output and attract customers; while improving service quality of clue Yen Vien station; connecting the northern seaport system with Yen Vien station; thence increasing market share in rail freight, increase connectivity of Yen Vien station with anothers on the national rail network.
